Bad Wiper Motor-Specific Question

I have 2 bad plastic wiper motors. I've read every thread and looked at a lot of pictures. When air pressure is applied they will sweep to the right but not return. If you apply air to the U shaped outlet on top they will return to the left and stay there. With the end off I applied air to the hole on the bottom of the body that carries air to the far end of the motor, this pushed the piston back to the left. It seems the problem is in the endcap and not the body. What is going on that "butterflies" the air end to end causing the piston to go back and forth. There are no moving parts in the endcap but there are air passages built into it. I'll get pics and post then later. These motors aren't worn out and one looks new.
