Blackout Light Switch Problems

Everytime someone flips either switch for the blackout lights, it pops a fuse and the headlights won't work until it is replace. I know I could track down the problem with enough effort, but I don't need the blackout lights. If I disconnect the switches or cut the wires going into them, will the lights still work? I really want a 2 minute fix and killing the switch seems easiest if it will work. Thanks.

Its a little more than 2 minutes...

basically you need to make sure to keep the wires connected that the switch activates in the up position.

(sounds to me like you have a shorted marker light wire.... check the bumpers)
