Brake light/turn signal...same?

Does the brake light override the turn signal on a deuce? It appears they share the same bulb, and right now, if my turn signal is flashing, and the brake is applied, the flashing changes to a constant on as long as the brake is on. Once the brake is off, the flashing resumes, until the turn signal is turned off.

Is this correct?

Many thanks,

Paul

The turn signal should over-ride the brake light on that side, at least it does on all of the numerous Deuces that I follow behind on a regular basis.
The brakes do over-ride the 4-way flashers though.

Cheers

The brake "signal" is routed through the turn signal switch, so depending how it is designed, it will or will not override the turn signal(s).
Rory above is correct as far as the deuce goes and that is the way it should work anyway.
