Thanks, just let me know.I’m sure I have them in some scrap cabs-will be a few days til I can get down there again
I've seen some that appear to be screw on knobs, but not sure how you can verify they would fit? Do you know of any that will fit for certain, as I already considered this, but didn't want to order something I couldn't use.Might search eBay for "dash knobs".
Lot's of options for hot rods, etc that look waaaaaay better than S&S OEM.
I didn't think about the set screw type, so as long as it fits on the shaft, the set screw should do the trick. Thanks for the tips.Yep.. All you really need to know is the shaft dia. Threaded-on is a bonus but not always a necessity....
I just measured the vent rod shaft and it's 3/16". That's a pretty common size for knobs on US cars.I didn't think about the set screw type, so as long as it fits on the shaft, the set screw should do the trick. Thanks for the tips.
if it screws on......get a screw on. They are superior to the set screw type.I didn't think about the set screw type, so as long as it fits on the shaft, the set screw should do the trick. Thanks for the tips.
Meh.if it screws on......get a screw on. They are superior to the set screw type.
go by hardware store with good collection of SAE and Metric nuts..... record what each is on the baggy... and test fit the to find out the thread. Granted a thread gauge would help lol..... but honestly smaller the shank.. IMHO harder it is to use thread gauge unless you maybe couple it with a magnifying glass.I've seen some that appear to be screw on knobs, but not sure how you can verify they would fit? We're all gettin old, bud. I put a light/magnifying glass in my garage a year or so ago. Get ya there.... though fine threads on very small shank are hard to see the smaller finer they get anyway though. age-ish / eyesight just makes it worse lol...We're all gettin old, bud.
