Steel Soldiers!
CALL TO ARMS! Help beat back the Soberian advance!
Come help support “Operation Under the Radar” This is a vintage car rally that starts in Athens, Georgia and ends in St Marys, Georgia (350 miles). It is put on to benefit COPS (Concerns Of Police Survivors). The rally involves 55 cars built 1976 or earlier, ranging from classic American muscle to venerable British cars.
The theme of this year’s event is a military mission based on the idea that the Soberians (from the evil country Soberia) are invading the United States in an effort to destroy all of our distilleries and breweries. They have used EMP and HERF technology to defeat the computer systems on modern American war equipment and landed a credible force on the Georgia seacoast. Modern war equipment of any sophistication is rendered useless by these technologies, allowing the Soberians nearly free reign over our conventional military.
By 8 November, (the event date) the Soberians will have advanced as far as Athens. The mission of the “Tinfish Squadron”, since their older vehicles are not vulnerable to the Soberian’s HERF and EMP technologies, is to “fly low” through enemy held territory, obtain certain recon pictures and deliver them to operatives we have inserted behind enemy lines. They will have to find three operatives scattered across Georgia before “landing” safely at a friendly LZ located along the St Marys river.
What role can the Steel Soldiers play in this event?
The event participants would consider it a great honor if we could entice as many Steel Soldiers as possible to be at the three rendezvous points along the way to provide “Support” to our operatives. It will be great fun and a fantastic way for Steel Soldiers to use their vehicles AND share their enthusiasm with a large group of like minded individuals. If anyone would like to drive their vehicles to the starting line in Athens ot the finish line at St Marys that would be great too!
We are asking any and all Steel Soldiers for any ground OR air (two of the checkpoints are at operating air fields) support that they can muster. If you are interested in participating (bring your friends), please email your contact information (Name, phone number and home base location) to the Wing Commander (Mike Horsman) at tinfishsquadron@gmail.com or call (706)540-8695.
He will be able to let you know where in Georgia the three checkpoints are so you can decide which works best for you.
All participants are invited to the party at the finish line (Seagle’s Saloon, Riverview Hotel) to help celebrate the success of the mission!
To give you a clearer picture of this event, attached is a list of communique's that was emailed to the members of Tinfish Squadron. Thank you for your consideration and we hope to see you behind enemy lines!
