My wife has one of those new smart phones. I've tried to surf the net with it but don't care for it. The screen is way to small and typing a message isn't the easiest (that's why I don't text either). I'm not saying I'd never own one but don't think it would ever replace my laptop. It does have the advantage of being more mobile than a laptop but I think it's a step backwards for internet surfing quality.
This. It amazes me when I hear people talking about using their phones exclusively for the web. I just don't get it.
I use mine plenty-I mean, a LOT, but as a help, not replacement. Just the other day, I was in the parts house, remembered I needed wiper blades, got on SS, did a search (amazing! search!), found the part # and got what I needed.
But I wouldn't want to get rid of the laptop.
