Does anyone have the actual part number Caterpillar uses for the M1078, 3116 radiator fan? Mine shat the bed on me during a road trip yesterday.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
It isn't for a specific cat engine it was made for military application only by borg Warner. Why there are those suppliers listed as the builders of it and its not an in house cat product. Thanks for the response, but these aren’t Cat part numbers. My local Cat parts guy is struggling. What am I missing?
If you aren't aware, there is a military TM parts manual (-24P) for these trucks. That's the first place to start for part numbers, then work out from there, trying to cross reference with civilian part numbers. Many of the part numbers in the TM are already civilian numbers, especially on/inside civilian assemblies like the engine/transmission/etc.Thanks for the response, but these aren’t Cat part numbers. Was this a blade problem or the retainer screws came loose. Thought there was a thread where we were told to double check fan retainers? I have checked mine but will keep a eye on the fan for being loose.Does anyone have the actual part number Caterpillar uses for the M1078, 3116 radiator fan? That is correct. Assemble it with 10-32 bolts in the factory holes.I thought someone said that you could remove the rubber bushings on the original one and mount it flat? Maybe I'm imagining things.
