CHMMWV H26 and M998A1

I am looking at a CHMMWV H26 which I think is a M998A1. What signifigance does the "C" and the "H26" have? Why is there a "CHMMWV H26" designation instead of HMMWV?

I personally never heard of a CHMMWV H26

never heard of it. but GL lists a lot of stuff under the chmmwv designation.

H26 is the usable on code for the M1044 HMMWV in the 20p. Past that I have no clue.
