Here is the Cold Start on a M 816 in action. It's a sunny 18 degree day The 816 had not been started for several weeks. I wanted to see what it did because so many on this site said it didn't do the job.. hmmm!!

It's a slow repeating process. Stroke, Stroke, Stroke well ,you get it right?

So, just a constant pump with pressure until it was up and running?

OK it's there. Under M816 Cold Start.

Yes. Just keep the pressure above 80 psi.

Three things usually keep this system from working.
1. the Glow plug has been hooked up to 24 volts. It's a 12 volt connection and 24 volts will melt it.
2. The Cold start relay isn't working. It's rebuildable, just take it apart clean the points. If it isn't burnt out it should work.
3. The battery that your hooked up to is low on charge.
