It's awefully tight in there. Suggestions on how to get compressor nuts off. Recommendation on tool since my sockets can't fit in there and don't seem to be much room for an open end either.

If you removed one, what did you use?

Depends which compressor type you have. The universal joint looking swivel sockets work on some of the nuts. Crow feet sockets work too except they take forever. Something else to consider is that a 1/4" drive socket will have thinner walls and might fit in there if your 1/2" or 3/8" ones won't work. Also, a 12 point socket normally is thinner walled than a 6 point.

I have removed and installed both types.

On the two cylinder compressor, I use an 12" extention with a crows foot for the right (passenger) rear nut. To get it in place I use a long screw driver or piece of wire to drop the nut into place. Put the nut over the wire, hold the nut in your hand, set the wire on the stud and drop the nut down the wire.

On the one cylinder I have to use a modified crows foot for the right front nut. I had to grind the crows foot down inorder to get it to fit.

Hope this helps. Of course YMMV.
