Could I have burned up something?

The battery cable leading to the starter on my m1010 melted against the manifold. Now the truck won't start. I have a brand new starter that I bench tested before putting in. Could I have burned up either the starter relay or the ignition switch when the starter cable arched? Please help, I'm new to electrical systems and don't really know how to diagnose them.

I would first check the starter relay located just above the drivers right foot under the dash its the strange it the one that doesn't look like the others. It is also known for causing the starter to keep turning when you have the engine running.
