I just bought a very rough D100 shortbed pickup 2wd. It has the same tag on the dash that my M882 has but it says D100 on it. Anybody have any idea what branch of miltary used these trucks?

It was DoD wide - used as a base support vehicle, for running errands, getting groceries so to speak. Just on post duties, non-tactical. Up through the 1970s, all post vehicles got a data plate, regardless of whether it was an M-series or not. I've seen Dodge Diplomats, IH Scouts, and Ford Broncos from the 1960s and 1970s all having data plates as well....
