I know this is an older thread but with so many 939 series trucks coming out now it might be useful again.

Anyone know of a year sequence for these trucks? I have one with a Delivery Date of 2001 but BMY stopped in 1993 so that's a little off. It doesn't appear to be a rebuild so I'm a little stumped. Already have my insurance in place listing it as a 2001 per GL but want to make sure I get the SF 97 correct so the title isn't screwed up.

I'm wondering how to find out the year model too...our M936A2 does not even have a delivery date marked on the dash plate. Is there a certain digit in the serial # that designates its year or maybe something in the contract # on dash plate?

I only have ser. numbers for fourteen A2 wreckers, but 36/00542 is the latest I have for 1990, 36/00717 is the earliest number for 1991 and 36/00878 is the last I have for 1991. I can't read your serial number. If your number is 36/00415, it is 1990, and if it is 36/00915, it is probably 1991, but there is a slight possibility that it could be 1992. I don't recall seeing a 1992 A2 wrecker

Good morning.
I am trying to find differential pound ratings for my 1986 M923 A1.
The dash plate says I can have a 10 thousand pound payload.
I have heard that the diffs are 24 thousand each.
Any help is appreciated.

rear tandem setup is for 44,000 lbs. This applies for a tractor setup. You have a 10,000lb payload for off-road and a 20,000lb payload on road for a cargo setup.
