I won a Delta Model 34-806 table saw from GL at Holloman AFB. Although an older model, the saw is in almost new condition and is equipped with a 5 HP 3 phase motor. As received, the motor was wired for 440 VAC 3 Ph. I rewired the motor (10 minutes) for 230 VAC 3 Ph. Since I don't have 3 phase at my house, I powered it with my MEP-003A genset. I had never used my genset set for 3 phase before. It worked like a charm. I will continue to power the saw with the generator until I can find a reasonably priced rotary phase converter. I might build a phase converter.

We put VFDs on a lathe and mill in the shop. We got one used on ebay for $100. They also make easy variable speed controllers. I would get VFD over rotary phase converter.
