This is exactly what I had in mind for my rv!
But then getting into the details I realized it's not trivial (=gross understatement) doing all the steering, gauges, brakes, cutting the floor for a whopping doghouse, dealing with 2 frames etc, I ended up deciding I will use either a camper trailer or possibly a class C motorhome (that has a van front end and a sleeper over the cab)

You need a lot more fender clearance than that in the back, those rear axles can come up a lot!
