Hello
I just bought myself a m35a2 a few months ago and I have pondered the idea of giving it a nice new paint job. Overall I have basically zero knowledge of painting these things and have lots of questions.
I have spoke with a few deuce owners and they tell me that all they do is brush the paint on right over the rust and old paint, but I dont think thats really a perminate paint job, but they say you dont have to nessisarly remove all the rust in order to give it a nice paint job. Right know I am currently useing rustolium paint and primer.
I have heard CARC is the ideal paint for the military vehicles, but is isnt very safe. What kind/ brands of paint and primer do you guys recommend, Im doing my truck with a flat green and black?
When priming and painting, does all the rust need to be removed in order to ensure a nice paint job? I heard some guys use that rustoliem rust killer that you can spray right on to the rust to make it a printable surface?
ANd do you simply just prime it and paint it, or do you need hardeners of some kind?
WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND??
