Directional switch light

I have one of the directional switches that have the green light on it that is supposed to blink when the blinkers are blinking. I replaced the bulb with an LED but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure if I have twisted the LED enough to make a full circuit and since i have fingers like a gorilla and I can't fit my fingers in there I'm wondering if there is another way. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

The LED must be wired internally in the reverse compared to all other lamps, the body is positive and the tip is negative.
To be honest I do not see the big attraction to LED lights, if it were me I would just put an incandescent lamp in there and be done with it, incandescent lamps worked fine for us the last 100 years or so.........
And there is a never ending list of threads where folks have hell installing LED lights.

Wow. I learned something. Thanks for the info. You wouldn’t happen to know what bulb that is off the top of your head do you?

On my M1123 I also have the indicator light. The base somehow has a loose contact. Even though the signals outside the truck always work, the indicator doesn't always work. If I push a bit on the green lens it usually makes enough contact to come on... Have you tried squeezing the sides of the socket together a little bit? Maybe that could help. Just my 02 cents.
