Does GL ship small items

Only if you buy from the retail side - Uncle Sam's.

Look at the GL site info, where you want something. There is usually a short list of places that do pickup and ship Items from each location.

Call a local(to the GL lot) UPS store, many will go get your item for a fee.

Post in the transportation or preview needed forums(without giving item specifics(as per the site rules) and see if someone nearby will assist you in retrieving and shipping your item.

It's wise to ask for references or know who your dealing with(common sense).

For instance, I'm about the closest one here to Ft Drum. I will go get items from there, hold them or ship them, for a fair price(if I could do it for nothing, I would). Many of us will do that.
