I am trying to put west coast mirrors on my truck (currently has the older (east?) style mirrors). I am not able to get the main support off the truck, is there a way to use it to mount the west coast style mirrors. Thanks.

Mik, I believe it's an entirely different mounting. I converted from the old elephant ear type to the West Coast style. Post a picture, show us what you're having trouble with. I saved all the brackets and stuff, if you need anyting.

Hmmm I'm installing west coast mirrors on my deuce.
The driver's door was a cinch -- the hinge pins were bolts.
The passenger's door is a B**** -- The hinge pins are "permanently bound" in the holes.

I've search the threads and found some advice on the pressed pin removal - - -

ANYONE here have OTHER SUGGESTIONS?????

When I changed my mirrors, I had to take the right side door and hinges completely off the truck, and drill out the pins. No amount of pounding with a hammer would move them.

Bandman, if you talking about the breacket that I think, you have to cut it off the truck. Please post pictures if possible.

I have two spare doors - both have the driven-in pins...

I suppose my best plan is to rework the hinges from one them on the workbench before attempting to swap out the hinges on my passenger door.

How "soft" is the pin. Can it be drilled out with an electric drill while the hinge is in a vise? Or would a drillpress be recommended?

USASFF, I recommend a drill press. You might be able to use a hand drill and a good bit, if the hinge were clamped in a vise, but if you have access to a press I strongly encourage that.

Thanks.
I have the drill and vise - but not the drillpress. I'd rather not damage and parts or persons in getting this job done.
Safety is a primary concern with me.
