So I haven't posted on here in quite some time and this post may be an example of "late is not better than never". My company sent me to Belgium for the last year. I have been living in Brugge since January and am now prepping to move back to PA. Its too late for me to ask for suggestions of what I should see, so I will just give a quick rundown of the places I have been.
There is so much history around, and in some cases an incredible contrast between the peace and beauty of the sites today compared to the **** on earth they must have been 70 or 100 years ago.
- Tank Museum Dorset, UK
- Maginot Line, France
- D-Day beaches(Utah, Omaha, Arromanches)
- Pointe Du Hoc
- Berlin, Germany
- American Cemetery in Luxemburg
- German Cemetery in Luxemburg
- Paris for Bastille day
- Tyne Cot Cemetery, Iepers, BE
- Flanders Fields museum, Iepers, BE
- Various armaments along Belgian coast
