Hi All, Need some suggestions here. My M1009 64K miles on it just started having excessive chattering happening. Now, I know all diesels chatter, however we all know what our vehicles sound like running down the road and can pick out noises that should not be there. and this chatter is new and should not be there. Let me explain as best I can and let you know, new glow plugs, fuel filter, GP sol st85 and all new belts, new card truck is tight and everything else is working fine as it should and all fluids are good, clean and proper color: here goes... Started truck yesterday, drove to work 12 miles no issues; got in it to run to meeting 15 miles away at noon and as I was pulling out and applying gas peddle I heard excessive, not very loud but very pronounced excessive chattering, that seemed to happen as gas peddle was pushed to allow the vehicle to move. As I let up on peddle and as I drove it seemed to quite down but as more peddle was used to keep truck up to desired speed, you could hear the excessive chatter. I stopped checked oil, all is good, no diesel smell, level good and otherwise everything seems fine truck idles as normal (noise is normal at idle). After my meeting drove back to office; no issues all was normal and no excessive chattering. After work as I was driving home, it started again. trans fluid and shifting is fine as well. Just excessively amount of distinct chattering. Any ideas? I am going to take truck to local/reputable diesel shop but would like to know what you think first.
