Exhaust stack plug

A softball, a RBF flag, and a piece of elektrical wire come handy when theres a need to plug the exhaust stack

The RBF flag is a original from the F4-Phantom, by the way.

I got the idea when reading one of the posts here in SS.

I use the aluminum serving cans found inside a mermite for my 5ton. I also use them for the intake and exhaust for my MUTT for storage. (It has a fording kit)

Canvas condoms for me, when launched they don't scratch the other stuff parked around the truck. Roll up and throw under seat for reuse after trip.

Shot out! this morning.
The ball flew around 16ft across the yard, but was stopped short by a tree.
Nice trajectory, sort of mortar-like, and well visible due to the long flag. The flag is quite heavy though and induces a lot of aerodynamical drag, which reduces the range. Direction of aiming angle is about 145 degrees.
The system could be improved by:

- a ball with a larger diameter or of a harder substance, which allows a higher buildup of pressure in the stack
- a shorter flag with less drag and mass

I too think the canvas condoms are more practical, but they don't have that nice appearance and creative stimulance when they've gone ballistic.

@manstein: i could imagine marks on the passenger door window and in the mirror as aiming system!

I've hear so many stories of guys leaving their wheel cocks behind and ripping out the cargo tie downs from the sides of the beds where they have the chain wrapped.

So I got an Idea...........

I had found a dealer at the Wings and Wheel show today that was selling some RBF tags for a key chain. They are only about five or six inches long and are perfect for the wheel chain cocks. When stowing the wheel cocks I remove the tag and stow them in the cab. Before I move the truck I count my RBF tags which will tells me if I removed the wheel cocks.

I'll post a pic up tomorrow for ya guys.

What the Seabees use is lumber. 4x4s or 6x6 and they chain 2 together. They are usually painted bright yellow and are tossed in the front and back of a tire. If an intrepid young Seabee should forget to put out the chocks or run them over he will be wearing them around his neck as a painful reminder of his lapse of duty and the ridicule is intense. I like the idea of pairing up the chocks.
