Expansion line

Just purchased a nos fuel tank for the deuce after crunching mine in Haspin. Just so everyone knows the cab will contact the fuel tank if you get the frame twisted enough! My question is I would like to paint the "allow for expansion" line on the new tank but not sure the proper placement. How far down from the top should the line be? I have searched but haven't come up with anything and I'm not sure which TM it would be in.
