Filters Don't Match????

I am in the process of changing the filters on the M543A2, I pulled the primary fuel filter and found the filter looks nothing like the one that should be in there! My question is am I missing parts to the filter unit? The photos below show what I have, the filter bowl, two small washers, a spring and screw cap. I don't think the correct filter will work with the parts I have? The cork gasket on the bottom of the filter won't function with the tow small washers, it looks like the fuel will just bypass the filter by passing through the bottom filter hole around the washers?
Any help is appreciated.

Look up top in the housing and you will see a lip which will mate nicely with the cork on your replacement... Secondly you are missing a cup type washer which seals to the cork on the bottom with a lip on the cork...the replacement will work fine, but you need to seal the bottom with a cup type washer... ACE

The filter elements come differently, this one by Purolator with the original part number. It may be cleaned off and reused if clogged too badly (from Memphis, about $20.00).

Thanks guys, I am on the way to the Nuts & Bolts guy to find a cup style washer, I will have the filter bowl in hand so it should be an easy fix. Luckly I have a brother in law in the parts business so all the fuel and oil filters(WIX) only cost about $23, I just wanted to make sure my good deal really was a good deal.
