If it stinks, it is gear oil, which means new seal time. And usually if one goes, the rest fail like dominos. At least on my stuff they seem to.

I think it was a bad power point or Microsoft paint coloring on the photo.

Actually I think you have a bad wheel cylinder or a bad wheel seal.

Then again, what do I know.

Rub your fingers in it and smell it like "Flyingvan911" mentioned. Just don't taste it ! My best friend and a fellow mechanic (we went to trade school together ) loves to "taste everything" !!! I keep telling him someday something you put in your mouth will kill you ! Of course he has lived this long maybe nothing will kill him ! Once he tasted something and said "I taste engine oil, brake fluid and a hint of coolant" . I almost threw-up !!!

Thank you gentleman for all the narrowing it down on what you think it is. I'm hopping it is the wheel cylinder, but with my luck it will be the seal. I know that this weekend I will be heading to the 2017 mta show in Sussex nj, maybe I will get the chance to meet some of you on this forum, I will be looking for valve cover gaskets and other small items. see you this weekend.

Not much of a difference on what's leaking either way you will have to change the seal .

Phew! I'm glad I read the whole way through this thread. I thought you were referring to the 'Girlfriend' for a moment there...

What is the NAPA number for the one with the correct cup expanders? I looked in the cross-reference but it doesnt specify. I know that there are the "cheap" ones that start to leak after a while.
