Fuel issues

I have a 2.5 ton that has set for several years without being started. The fuel tank was gummed up etc... Replaced the in tank fuel pump with a 24v in line pump. Got everything cleaned up and have good clean fuel to the IP but can't get fuel to the injectors. Any tips or ideas of what could possibly be the issue? Thanks for any help.

The fuel shutoff is probably stuck closed. You need to remove the cover that holds the shutoff rod and make sure the lever is free moving. It is shutoff in the rearward position and should return back to about a 7 oclock position when released. You may have to spray some penetrating spray on it and cycle it back and forth to free it up. When you go to start again have some help and remove the intake mushroom have a piece of wood or metal you can quickly cover the intake opening just in case the engine tries to run away.
