Getting my MUTT, M151A2 going again, can't find a pinion seal.

It has only been down for about six months. My wife and I have owned it for about 10 years now. It was the first MV that we bought, been hooked since.

The problem I am having right now should be a simple fix, but I was not able to find any info while searching all the old threads.

The pinion seal on the front of the front differential is leaking and I am having trouble finding a replacement seal. I took the seal to the local Napa, where I used to work and took great pride in finding the impossible parts for the local farmers. The CR number was very clear but would not cross. It is a strange ID ID seal that presses over the diff housing and looks to be a two piece type of seal. Small ID OD seal pressed into a larger stamped housing (kind of like the ones I have replaced on my 5 Ton trucks) The number was on the larger stamped housing and I saw no number on the inner seal. Went to Tnj Murray, went through 74 pages of parts and found a diff seal kit and an input seal with no photo and no description beyond input seal, no reference to diff input. Any of you MV Gods have standard seal number for the assembly or info for me.
Thank you in advance

If you had a shop press, simply press that inner seal out and measure its O.D., width and also the pinion shaft diameter. It should be a std. size part, so finding the correct seal# in the catalogs should be fairly easy, from there on.

Just in case....:here is a whole set, and not overly expensive IMO: Saturn

Thank you for replying G.,
Where did you find the photos of the seals? They look like the ones that I need. I clicked on your link, saw the photo, but have no idea where you found them.
I had considered changing the inner half of the seal like you suggested, and I may be able to do this. This machine has four of these seals and I may not have the same luck removing the next one without damaging the outer half. I would like to find a source for a few of these seals so that I can put them in my parts room with the mountain of other MV parts. Thanks again for replying. Were you the only one to answer because it was a difficult question or because I am new to the group? And, what does "Btt" mean.

Dave, what you (we) really want to know is the part# for the actual seal, pressed into the seal carrier - which I believe should be a std. size.
Probably just not many frequent users knowing the exact answer to that...

Again, press one out and either look for any numbers on it or measure the three basic dimensions; then post results and you will be better helped, I guess...

Found the picture here: http://www.saturnsurplus.com/m151/m151.htm Scroll down to Differential Seal Set or Seal Set - Diff.
