So I went down to the local California DMV and sadly got the village idiot helping me. I am so hopping mad after leaving that place! Anyways, DMV looked over my paperwork showing that i had paid sales tax, the transfer of the form 97 etc. The issue i am having is that the DMV is refusing to finish my registration until i can provide them with GL's Board of equalization Tax ID number. Has anyone encountered this? I know i certainly have not had this problem with other vehicles that i had bought through GL. I guess i am calling goverment liquidation tomorrow morning and seeing if they'll provide a ID number (since they collected the tax for California). Pretty crappy that the purchaser is held to the fire for this.
