Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 1951 Dunbar M100. I am trying to hook it up to civilian 12volt but i cant seam to find a pic showing the plug that i have on my trailer right now. I would like to use it if it is possible however if its to expensive i will just swap the plug out.

Any Help is appreciated!!

That´s a civilian modification, the original setup consisted of a much bigger 12-pin socket with separate cable.
The cable was stored in a box on the front of the trailer when not in use. The box is missing on your trailer, it was mounted to the 2 brackets on the front of the tub.
Your trailer looks great, much, much better than the one i used to own, and that was over 20 years ago. Amazing, how it survived in such a great condition for such a long time.

Yeah, that trailer does look good for it's age. I was wondering if those fenders are a civilian rework, or originals. Either way, it sure looks like a keeper to me.
Congrats.

By the way, trailer wiring is so easy now days. If you want a 12v civilian hookup, just go to walmart and you get everything you need in one package for about $30 including new lamps, and it's only about 20 minutes to wire everything up. They are usually the 4 flat pin setup. LED lights are about 50% extra.

Thanks guys. I plan to make the swap to a new plug soon. I just picked this thing up a few days ago and Love it. I pulled it home from Richmond VA to Hampton VA behind my 06 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, even averaging around 65-70 MPH and never new it was back there. LOL I want to repaint it and am thinking about going with the traditional Olive drab, Desert Tan, or even match it to my Jeeps Khaki Color. While it will look neat being my jeeps color I think it will be more cost effective and easier to touch up latter if I go with the Desert Tan or Olive Drab.

As far as the Condition of the trailer I think it is in great shape. It does have some rust though. (As if that is a supprise) However over all it is free of any major Dents or Dings, and only has a few spots where the bed has rusted through and those are more like pin holes.
