Hi, great info, you guys seem to be very helpful and knowledgable. Thanks. I have just acquired what I believe to be an M46. Thanks to all your posts, I found the following on the drivers side frame, behind the shock "M36 142046". The dash data plate is missing, but the service plate details "TRUCK, 2 1/2 TON 6X6, M44, M45, M46, M57, M58 SERIES". There is no bed, it is a six cylinder gas (OA331 REO?). It has the long 190" wheelbase, 17.5' of frame behind the cab, rockwell axles, doesn't appear to have vacuum front... Was an old mine utility unit, really in pretty fair shape. If its a REO, that would date it between '55 and '62, yes?

Now I have the challenge of getting a title. Anyway, sounds like an M46 to me, but the M36 on the frame conflicts. It does have bed mounting points on the frame, but hard to tell if they're stock. Is this common on the cab and chassis? I need a new data plate for title. Bought one for an M35/M36, has anyone ever seen one for an M45/M46? Is it different? Not sure the MDV would know but ... The service plates appear to be different from what I've seen on the web. Can post some pics if it'll help. Anxious to get it titled, registered and play in the sand. Thanks.
