hard top to soft top

So I have an opportunity to trade my leaky hard top for a like new soft top and hardware. I was looking at the top and it has a snap where it goes at the top corner of the front window frame, the hard top has a screw that goes the same place. Is this a big issue if I don't have the snap?

I don't think it would be a real issue, the softtop that I have on my duece is too tight to snap it on anyway. Between the top being slide on the windshield and the fastners on the frame at the doors should be plenty water tight for you. You could probally locate some sorta snaps at a fabric store or an autoparts store and screw them in if you wanted too.

I wanted to add another thought to this. When I replaced my original soft top with a new top, I fitted the top and made sure it was straight and on the truck correctly. When I was done I found I counld not snap the top to the windshield frame where the snap was located.

I pondered this for a minute and then took action. I carefully removed the snaps, and relocated them to where the top would fit and snap onto them. I measured both sides to make sure they were symetrical and it has been fine ever since.

I have installed several soft tops on jeeps over the years and it is not rocket science. Common sense and a bit of ingenuity and you will be riding in soft top comfort, extra noise included no extra charge, very soon.

Best of luck
