As most of you know, I purchased a military hardtop for my M135 the other day. It is in really nice shape, but the insulation will need to be replaced due to age.
The insulation in it is dry and brittle. It is black and appears to be made of the same foam material that the military sleeping mats are made of.
What insulation was originally used in these? Is there a modern equivalent that is readily available besides chopping up some military sleeping mats?
I found this and am considering using the 1 inch 18% black perforated vinyl.

What have you guys used that looks original or close to it?
