headlight mounts as taillight guards

Does anyone use the front fender-mounted headlight mounting brackets as taillight guards? The taillights on my M353 trailer hang down below the belly of the trailer, and those might make good skidplates. Anybody got a parts truck with an extra pair of those brackets? Maybe send me a PM?

Looks like it would work well on the back of a deuce too if you moved the air supply lines.

It was a two-part question. 1) If you've done it, have you modified them, run them upside-down/right-side-up, etc.? 2) Got some? I want them. If you can't answer part one or two...
