Just get a nail or center punch. Give it a light tap, if it dents with little effort it's Alum. Grab a magnet and check to see if it is magnetic, that will work also.
I forgot to mention - I don't have them (or access to them) to check physically - getting ready to potentially buy them but seller says they're steel - I'm thinking otherwise
