Hello all , and first off thanks for just taking a look at my question ...I have a 1984 CUCV M1009. This seasoned vet spent its full tour of duty on a small NG camp, where it was driven by civilian contractors , but never on Sunday . A total of 55k .. Then one pre Katrina hurricane the powers above decided to push a big southern pine tree down on top of this defenseless old troop. Landing just past the drivers door , crossing the frail fiberglass . Blowing every window out and bending the body in a U shape, but it didn't bend its frame . Back ground info on the damage and M1009 usage was supplied by the NCOIC at the DRMO whom had personally road in it. Well you guessed it , The gov wrote it off as junk and heres where I enter the picture .
This M1009 is being completely transformed into a WVO powered Generator setup. Utuilitzing the power train and drive train as a PTO to turn generators . Since its no longer a motor vehicle, its being stripped down to its very basics . Since the steering column is being removed, and the original ignition switch is bad, I need to manually wire it.
I have down loaded several TM's and have been using the schematic's from TM 9-2320-289-34 figure :
E-1 Starting Circuits (All Except M1010)
E-3 Engine Compartment Ignition Circuits (All except M1010)
E-4 Cab Ignition Circuits ( All except M1010)
Well these really dont help ( It did for the Starter Relay ) do to the color codes dont match up ????? Here's what it have.
located directly under steering column going up into the ignition/steering wheel housing .
Blade location color
E Lt Brown
F Lt Green
G Black
H Lt Blue
J Dk Blue
K Brown
L Purple
M Yellow
N Dk Green
P white
Any help with manually wiring for "run" and using a push start switch to engage the starter would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks again
