Hood Handle

Does anyone know why some M37 trucks have hood handles while others don't? Was there a production change? Is the handle normally found on early or late trucks? Just curious!

Don't know. I have had a couple of deuces with hood handles but most of them don't have one. It may be a motor pool add on.

Anyone have a measurement for the "U" bolt they used?

It was a modification done on all Marine trucks. I don't think it's any special U-bolt. I think it's just a bent bolt or piece of threaded rod. Just cut two holes centered in the front edge of your hood, and bend some threaded rod to fit, with nuts and washers threaded on it on both the inside and outside to lock it down.

They sell those bolts at Lowes and Home Depot. Used them before for a lift gate on my open trailer.
