I'm going with type II WD (water based) tan CARC, 2 part paint. It mixes 2-1-.5 with paint, cat, water so 1 gallon of color makes 1.75 gallons of sprayable paint. My current paint is in great shape overall, so I'm only topcoating the bed sides, cab and bumper. I am not using primer, but I will be sanding everything to be painted with 320 grit equivalent scotchbright on a da sander to get good mechanical adhesion. The question is, how much paint do I need? If painted a lot in the past and I'm estimating that when covering up the same color that is in good shape, and doing nothing underneth that 1 gallon of color should do it- which will be 1.75 total. Any thoughts?
If I do the inside I will probably need 1/2 gallon more, but I am thinking of doing that with a roll on bedliner instead.
