the paint on my deuce is faded and chipped, id like it to look nice (not perfect). i have to paint a cj5 as well so im gonna order up some rapco.

how much paint do i need to cover the deuce? assume one solid color, one good coat. not doing a frame up resto so body panels and interior as well as the bed.

how many gallons vs spray cans?

i plan on ordering 4 gallons (1 primer, 3 383 green) i need to prime and paint the jeep and hope ill have enough to do the truck (atleast exterior), im only gonna prime the truck where its exposed metal. plan on re-doing the camo later with spray cans

Also, according to "Army Jeep Parts" Gillespie recommends 2:1 paint to reducer (synthetic enamel) but Rapco says 4:1. same paint right? who is right? 2:1 means i buy less paint and reducer is easy to get but i want a good quality and durable paint job. [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

I use 1.5 gallons on a M1009 and 1 gallon on my M151. On my deuce I used 2 gallons cut 50% and it looked good but really was a little thin. For a 6x6 sized truck I would really get 4 gallons and only cut it 25% when spraying. Now I did NOT paint the inside of the box so add more if you want to do so.

It took me 2 gallons of 383 carc substitute from Rapco and 2+ quarts of xylene to paint the cab and frame (no interior) of a bobber. I would suggest 4 gallons.

I thin just what is needed to spray every paint is a little dif as is the gun and presure you spray at. I painted my 66 gmc long bed the whole truck and inside box with 1 gal. of paint + reducer. I would think 3 gals would paint the deuce! 2cents
