Thanks you both very much. I appreciate your knowledge... im looking for something i can maintain. Maybe some cometic and basic work. I dont know how difficult these are to work on. But, i dont want a street queen.. I have dogs... my buddies... muddy boots ect.... but I would like a slantback... not sure a 6.3 or 6.5... I think it comes down to 3 or 4 speed trans...... I like tan.... and would like to keep it original.. paint for the most part... maybe better seats.. blew my C3 in my neck hitting the iron... but cant heal like i used to at 50...lol

Welcome to the forum.
You "want" a 6.5L GEP engine and a 4 speed if you plan on driving on the road much, The GEP is an improved version of the GM engine and the 4 speed is an overdrive transmission with a lockup converter, this is the most desirable combination.
Go down the forum and read some of the topics and you can get some idea on what is required to service/maintain/restore these vehicles,
Going with a reputable seller is the safest and usually in the long run the most cost effective way to go.
Happy new year!!

Try your luck at Govplanet. Look at the inspection report and find a complete one and bid! The hardest part is waiting on EUC papers. Then line up your shipper. Shippers are looking for loads right now, as there has been a big down turn in shipping.

Hey thanks ill check it out..... just looking for a fair quality place to adventually buy
Retiredwarhorses is the only person I would trust buying from. I took my chances at auction and I would buy both of my trucks again! I don’t want something that op has messed with. Steve is good Man and you will get a nice truck.

Another option is to buy at auction and send the truck to Retired Warhorses for a refurb - Steve has done two for me and is very thorough and mostly cost-effective.

But if you want one without an up to one year wait for the SF-97 (title) to arrive from govplanet so you can get the plates, then just go direct to Retired Warhorses and buy one of his "off the rack".

Also note you may have some issues registering the truck with the NYS DMV. Investigate that before you take the plunge.

I enjoyed the search and bidding and waiting. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I would have loved to ship my truck to retired warhorse and have him sort it out. I’m 2 for 2 at auction.

I personally wouldn’t buy a truck from them. I’m not saying anything bad about them. You will be better off buying truck from Steve or at auction and send it to Steve if you can’t turn wrenches and follow retard instructions. TM’S tells you everything. The design of our trucks were meant to be maintained by children.
