I'm looking for some information on this light, which I acquired recently just because it was interesting. Looking at it, it is obviously a safety device of some sort, with a red steady or flashing light and an MV-type reflector.

From searching for the NSN I find it listed as BII on the M88 recovery vehicle, but no other info so far. Nothing on the other number.

Anyone know what it is called? (well, other than "Light, Flasher"..). What type of battery it uses? Using a 12v battery, it lights up brightly, but the flasher doesn't flash (broken flasher? Voltage? Who knows..). Bulb is marked GE 185c, but I haven't found it on a list.

So, oh Font of Knowledge.......

Cheers

Bump to get a few more views.

If I can't find out the proper stuff to make it work, I will rewire it to common batteries. It would be a nice accessory at shows.

Thanks for the input gents!

I'll PM Todd and see what he says.

From the contacts, I imagine they used some proprietary type battery which is no doubt impossible to find and/or viciously expensive. There is room for a lantern type battery, or something similar. I'll let you know if its a success.

Cheers
