Well, I guess I'm a full-blown member now. As of this afternoon, I'm the proud owner of the M1009 that's been my avatar since I joined.
I'll try to make this short: My Dad gave my oldest son his '86 Dodge Ram truck for his 15th birthday. I suggested that my son use some of the money he'd (we'd) saved (for him) to fix it up. Well, I'm his Dad, so what do I know?
But, I'm also a doting father, so I let him buy the CUCV with "his" money in January, right before his 16th birthday.
Now, fast-forward about 3 months and when son finds out I'm bidding on another M1009, he starts talking about me trading my '02 Tundra for another Dodge truck with a cummins in it for him. Then "we" fix up the Blazer and the '86 Ram, and I get to drive them some.
I just let him ponder the idea of me trading my truck so that he could have a 3rd vehicle, and I'm proud to say that he realized the folly of his suggestion. Then he offered to "sell" the CUCV to me and use the money to fix up the Ram (What a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?!).
