Injection pump compatibility

Greetings,
I checked my parts manual and it doesn’t show compatibility, but want to ask the group here.

Is the LDS-465-2 injection pump 11641907 or LDS-465-1A 10951115 compatible with the LDT-465?

If compatible I assume I would turn down the fuel and verify EGTs?

thanks!

LDS pumps are minutely advanced if memory serves, so I believe you'd turn the fuel up, but yes it will work.

Edit: just to confirm, your LDT is turbocharged, correct?

Oh, you would grab a set of LDS rocker arms and turn the fuel up! ** evil grin**

Yes, the LDS pump works just fine on an LDT. But...rocker arms and enjoy 200+ hp!

I think that 200 horsepower is a little unrealistic from just a rocker arm change. One of the reasons the LDS had to be spun at 2900 RPM to produce the higher HP.

I was thinking that using LDS INTAKE rocker arms and an LDS pump should up the hp of the LDT to at least close to where the LDS sits. Maybe 200 is optimistic, but I am sure it would scoot!

Well a lot of people are happy with an FDC bypass and a good tune a pyro on an ldt they're happy with the way they run. You can turn the fuel up on an LDT and it will outrun an LDS pump but the problem will be the heat. Also it seems like a lot of people don't even want to spin it up to 2600 in fear of ventilating. While a complete LDS setup is going to run better you have to ask yourself is it worth the cost trying to make a race car out of a lead sled.

I'm only interested in and LDS injection pump as I can pickup a few for a really good price locally, but don’t want to buy them if I can use them. I won’t be tuning mine for extra HP, just a cheap replacement IP.

Sounds like a good plan. Sounds like you got the pyro covered the only thing I would add was get a new oil feed line to replace the old one when you exchange IP's

Hi everyone (sorry for being away so long, eek)

Did the LDS have anything special in the bottom end to deal with the RPM?

Thanks

Nope, same crank, pretty sure same cam, different rocker arms, and better designed pistons for cooling. To turn an LDT into an LDS, one simply needs an LDS rebuild kit and injection pump because the timing is just a little bit different. I think even the flywheel and clutch assemblies are the same, not certain though.

By far the easiest way to add 40-70 horsepower.
