Guys I need some advice. I have 2 deuces that have injection pump leaks. the first leak is the govener spring cap on the rear. can I replace the gasket without removing the pump, and how far will the spring fly out? the next is the Quill shaft cover (laying on the ground looking up at the bottom of the pump it has 2 bolts in the cover with safety wire.) any suprises here? and the last is the control lever for the throttle, I believe the gasket and o-ring are leaking. they all look easy enough, but can they be done in the truck? does any body have a good source for these gaskets?

Do you have pics? If I am seeing what you are saying, you will have minor oil leak out when you take them apart. I doubt any springs will fly out.

I will post some pics, I dont have a dilution problem, these passages are specific to engine oil only, they have been leaking for a long time just need to be fixed.

For the rear cap, it's simple to replace that gasket witout removing the pump. There is a spring, but it is really managable to remove and re install. I can't comment on the rest of your questions.

The gasket set for the pump is around $30. I got mine from Eriks Military Surplus, Part #5702663

Wow you need some punctuation. The IP can be removed with those old gasser fenders, no it ain't fun. If you can get a gov rebuild, GO FOR IT. Should be zero worries with one of those.

injection pump

finally got injection pump out when engine off fuel pump on deisel leaked out govenor housing gasket at bottom.washed off stared at it ,understand what every one said about fuel density comp .basically if compensator developes leak internal it leaks fuel into govenor housing part of pump.also i think it adds presure to govenor housing by fuel pump spraying right inside.mine only leaked when fuel switch on.i will take lots of pictures so when completed it helps others out.

Some pumps do not have an FDC with just a plate instead. I have not gotten one to be able to compare the two, sorry I can't answer your question.

ok found injection pump at kublos surplus brand new not rebuilt, where fdc was it has cover now so with fuel density comp eliminated only has droop adjustment how do you adjust droop adjustment.second question when reassembling should i leave nut loose on end of injection pump time every thing then tighten shaft end the three bolts that go through slotted gear ,and should blue lock tight be used.
