installing new fuel injector - question about tightening

I have a concern about snapping off the screws for the hold down clamp.

On page 5-187 of TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2, the instructions state to tighten the screws to 150 to 175 pound-feet. That seems like an awful lot and I would take a real chance on breaking the screws off. Is "pound-feet" correct or should it be "pound-inches"?

I have torqued them down with the torque wrench set to 50 pound-feet and not been able to hear a click on the wrench before the screws are so tight the fear of breaking off starts and I stop tightening.

Any knowledge shared on this process is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks guys, yeah, common-sense was telling me "this just doesn't feel and seem right". Now to see if I can back them out without snapping off, always seems to be something that complicates an easy process.
