Good evening fellas
i will try to make this short this is in backup to a thread I read a while back about people treating your stuff like it belonged to them.
Last Sat about 5:00 am ther was an unusual amount of noise out by my Deuce that is parked on the street in front of my house. I get up look out the window to see aprox 10 kid's climbing all over my truck and there minivan driving soccer mom taking pics. The kids were all Cammied out so I am guessing they were going paint balling but they climbed on top of my soft top cab bent the stays and pulled out a couple of the twisty turney ( Dont know what their called) buttons that hold the top on over the side windows.
I know this has been covered before but WTF. Has our population gone mad when I was a kid in the 60's I wouldent even dream of leaning on someone's car much less climb on it. and the Mom letting the kid do it she is the one I am mad at. By the time I got my pants on they were driving off so no justice there .
next I was talking about this to a buddy of mine here in San Diego who happens to be a lawyer and I told him I was invited to show my stuff at the air show. And was advised not to by other more advanced collectors that i know here in town (one has the nicest Dodge Wc command car I haver ever seen ) And for the same reason you car become a jungle gym.
So I said to my friend I guess i can put a Danger do not touch or climb on sign on the truck.
He ( the lawyer ) said No go and he proceded to tell me a storry about a fella who was at a car show with some kind of vintage truck with a sign saying Danger keep off.
Well little 10 year old johnny climbed up fell off and broke his arm. The man with the truck was sued in court by the boys family and lost. Because the boys family's lawyer said you Knew the truck was dangerous you even had a sign on it stating this fact. why would you bring a dangerous item to a place where kids will play on it. Case closed.
I love my MV's and will talk to and even give rides to whoever wants what ever it takes to promote our hobby but Damm I don't want to get Sued for it>
Just my 2 cents
