LDS-465-A1 Rebuild Tag

I was looking at the M543's engine tag. It has a rebuild tag stamped rebuilt by MMD,92/2/7. There is no manufacturers name on the engine tag. Is the manufacturers name cast anywhere on the motor? And what/where is MMD?
