LMTV like a KAMAZ?

Is it just me or do the Dakar T4 Kamaz have nearly identical suspension to the LMTV M1078 vehicles?

From the vehicles it looks like leaf sprung solid axles front and rear. The race trucks get newer modern shocks and some better bump stops.

If you mean a suspenion like an LMTV being a solid axle leaf springs then yes they are the same, however the axles are an entirely different part.

I had a Russian ask me if my truck was a kamaz this weekend, I had to explain it was made in texas.

Some trucks have solid axles and leaf springs, So I guess that makes them 'similar'.

(However,The Dakar,).."Kamaz trucks use leaf springs and solid axles front and rear and weigh in at a whopping 20,000 pounds. The front spring packs consist of 15 leaves, while the rear uses a 10-leaf pack. The leaf springs are combined with Reider Racing shocks".

Just had mine weighed. It came in at 17,950 lbs. I don't have anything in the bed right now.
