$3.75 a pound to ship does seem a bit high. About as bad as the lot I won in Hawaii, which ran about $2.75 a pound back in 2008 (and I don't even look at stuff that far away anymore). They are probably wanting you to pay their labor for boxing up the filters (and finding the cardboard) and getting them to UPS. Actual shipping via UPS ground should be under $1.50 a pound, probably lower.
