Locking hub broken?

Hey guys...this is my first post on here so I apologize for my lack of knowledge in advance! I've been working on cars/trucks my whole life but this new project is a bit different from what I'm used to.

I recently purchased a 1983 CUCV M1008. Runs great, everything works, minus one small thing- the drivers side locking hub. When I grab the knob to turn it, it just spins freely around and around- feels like it's not connected to anything on the inside of the hub. I've never pulled a hub apart before so I'm a little hesitant to do so without consulting the CUCV experts first! What do yall think could be the problem? Easy or expensive fix?

There really ez to fix. there is only like 5 parts in side of them. Go down to the auto parts store and grab your self a new set of hubs. (like 50-80 bucks) and go home and slap them in. Take one side apart at a time and lay out all the old parts on a rag and install the new ones. Lay it out as it come off. Trust me there really really ez, nothing to adjust or set only a couple snap rings and a little screw and the cover bolts.
