Looking into cost to move a Deuce to Riverside, CA

Howdy ya'll, I have been wanting a Duece for 3 years now, and after getting rid of a few expensive habits, (Including dumping a girl friend and switching to using only my street bike for transportation) I have been bidding in places like barstow and french camp mostly, but I need to figure out a little more concrete of a budget.

I just wanted to know how much it will cost to transport it here, or if someone could recommend a company (Or member) that would assist me in the effort. Thank you all!

I want to do whatever option comes to the cheapest. The only ones I have seen localy on CL were listed at close to 10,000! Oceanside is (Kinda) local, but the last few trucks I saw action there went for like, 4,000.

I am mostly just looking at options and finding out prices. Im always open to suggestions!

I think the confusing part is your avatar saying you're in Graham, WA.

I'm guessing you're not there, at the moment.

No doubt, someone might be local enough to help out with a tow...

Its been a while since I was online here, just updated my location. :)
And now we all know why riding a bike everyday made sense...

Wish 2 things. The weather in Washington was good enough to ride a bike everyday and wish I had a bike I could ride... :-(

Anyway, Best of luck on getting the new ride. I've seen some going for under $5k up here in Washington lately, if you look

I actually just finished the trip to Riverside last night, moved down on the bike, tent camping along the way. I could have made the trip in one **** of a day, but I took 3. Had some places I wanted to visit along the way. And I have been riding the bike everyday in Wa since February.

I have seen auctions end at only $1500 for trucks that looked serviceable! Just never at the right time v.v

I have obtained quotes from UShip.com for smaller items. They act as a broker. I have used their quotes to assist in my decision making on purchasing items. Most of the prices have not been too bad.

Rides from French Camp are usually pretty clean and look ready to go.. I'd feel good about a drive home recovery from there..

I have gotten quotes in the neighborhood of $1.50 a mile. The real expense is in the details. I plan on doing a cost analysis on the actual cost to buy and retrieve and deuce from an auction when I get back with mine next week.

Just to give you an idea. I am close to $3000 and I have not paid for the fuel to go get it yet.

Keep in mind the 10% buyers premium and the local sales tax.

A $1600 truck hits about 2k before you are even done with the auction house.

$60 for SF97
Insurance (mine is going to be just over $800 a year). Almost as much as my 180+ MPH Bike.

Good thing about the trucks at Barstow is that they are fairly clean trucks may just need a paint job.

In addition to checking Barstow and French Camp, don't forget about Norton, near Las Vegas.... The drive back would be similar to the drive back from French Camp. We just finished a convoy from So.Cal to Lodi and back for Tower Park, passed French Camp on the way. Figure around $180 for fuel to make it back in the deuce from either French Camp or Norton.

This. Uship seems to work pretty good for getting a fair price. I'm about to post a duece on there. We'll see how it goes.

Thank you everyone for the feedback! Im of course watching Ebay, but most of the trucks I have seen so far have been on the east coast, and I would be worried about how expensive getting it home might be.... I guess I just need to keep saving and checking it out. I will get there eventually.

If I was going to try and recover one myself, I would ride my motorcycle to it, and *Somehow* put the bike in the back, that way I dont have to pay double fuel on the return trip. Maybe find a person to go up with me or do a double recovery so there is someone with more knowledge about the trucks, you know?

If you are doing something "local", I can certainly meet you there and help with the recovery...follow you back, etc. I'm no expert by any means, but I've managed to have my M109A3 survive for a few years now, so its better than nothing.
